of all the times we have been to Jason's parents house up in Menlo Park we haven't taken Carlie to the city yet.. (the city being San Francisco). We have been up there a million times with out her and thought it would be fun to take her to do things up there. We decided to take her up to Fort Point before we met up with Kelly (Jasons cousin), Dennis and their daughter Nadine at the SF Zoo. The trip was so Fun! We did so many things while we were up there this time. She is finally comfortable at Grandpa and Grandma's house!! :)

Weekend of fun

A couple of weekends ago was our annual Christmas dinner and walk thru the neighborhood of lights with Auntie Alicia, Uncle Jon and Anitra and her kids. Unfortunately Brayden was not feeling well so he didn't go with us with Joe but we still took the girls and they loved it. I didn't get that many pictures because of course those two wouldn't stand still together and smile at the same time... but I did get a few.

Josh, my brother, is a tennis player at Hope International, which is a private Christian College in Fullerton, he really seems to enjoy going to college there and loves to play on the tennis team.

For a fundraiser this year they made a calendar of some of the student athletes. Well I am not going to post the calendar on here but will proudly post the pictures of Josh that were taken for the calendar. He is so serious in there, maybe a little smirk.

Pretty much turned out awful this year. The girl taking the pictures was new (her first day new) and Carlie would smile for her and then the girl would take the picture after she was done smiling. I am definitely not happy how they turned out. But thought I should post them anyways because they are still of my gorgeous baby ;)

Trip to Salt Lake City

This last weekend we went to Salt Lake City for Ryan and Brittany's Wedding! We got to spend the weekend with Jason's parents and had so much fun with them. We ended up getting them new iphones and and an ipad and taught them how to use it all since Saturday it snowed the whole afternoon and it was pretty cold. Too cold to go outside and do anything else. Carlie and I were sick and had the sniffles and were drugged up all weekend on dimetap and dayquil.

I wish I got more pictures but the camera battery was almost dead and then Carlie ended up playing with the camera at the wedding and took so many pictures of herself that the batter died.. I could turn it on long enough to take a picture or two and then it would die again.. So here is what I got.. not much.

Poor Brittany was shivering the whole time she was up there. It was absolutely gorgeous though and I'm sure the photographer got some amazing pictures. But it was like 30 degrees and they got married outside while we got to sit under the tent with heaters!!

Anitra & Joe decided to not have a big party for Kyla's 2nd birthday so we just went to Chuck E Cheese on Saturday to help her celebrate with her family! It was so fun, Carlie loves that place.. (needless to say Carlie, Kyla and Brayden are all sick now, not sure from Chuck e cheese or not... but I'd put my mom on that sneaky mouse).. Regardless, we all had fun, the kids had fun and then we went back to Auntie Alicia's for dessert & presents!! :)

Every year we meet at Auntie Alicia's and Uncle Jon's for dinner, trick or treating and then play time with the kids! It is so fun to have these traditions that Carlie is going to grow up with. I absolutely love Brayden and Kyla and Carlie has so much fun with them!

Brayden and Kyla would wait patiently for their candy, Carlie on the other hand would just take what she wanted.... when we got home and looked at her candy she mostly had lollipops, kit kats, reeses peanut butter cups and m&m's. nothing else really...

Pumpkin Patch - it's almost Halloween!

Carlie seems to love Halloween. She loves to pick out pumpkins and everytime she sees decorations she gets really excited! Come to think of it, that's every holiday that she loves... But she likes to go to the Pumpkin Patch and pick out her own Pumpkin and play with the animals in the petting zoo.. I'm glad she enjoys it so much because it really makes for a fun experience with us taking her. I know she'll have so much fun with Brayden and Kyla too on Halloween when we all go Trick or Treating.

All the animals were fighting for her food! It's a good thing we got her a couple cups full of food. She ran around and made sure every animal got something to eat.

My Aunt's Wedding

My Aunt got married the day after we flew in from Wisconsin, it was a very hectic weekend but fun! I didn't get to take a ton of pictures from my Aunt's wedding because my camera died from the Wisconsin trip. Fortunately they had a photographer take a ton of pictures so I can get the pictures off of the disc when my Aunt gets it. Carlie was amazing, again, she didn't whine or comlpain or anything. Her behavior was amazing and I am thrilled she is such a good little girl!

Carlie FINALLY went on a plane.. Actually, 4 planes! We had a layover in Denver each way.. I could not be happier with how things went. Everything was very smooth and Carlie was amazing on the plane. She was happy and good, (basically her normal self), but I was nervous about taking her because it is so confined I wouldn't be able to take her anywhere if she was unhappy.. But luckily she was happy with the ipad, her toys and coloring! :) But, Jason and I took her to Madison, Wisconsin for Pete and Eleni's Wedding. She not only was good on the plane there, but at the rehearsal dinner that night we flew in, the 90 minute drive to Milwaukee, the ceremony, the 90 minute drive back to Middleton and the reception. So I figured the plane ride home the next day would be a nightmare but no, she was perfect! (plus we had another wedding tomorrow - I definitely thought that had to be her breaking point...)

Carlie has a new love... it is called Finger painting. She was unsure of it at first but then really had so much fun she didn't want to stop! I loved watching her make a mess and giggle :)

yes... she got my arm too... Who cares though?! it's washable!!

Carlie also went to Marie and got her FIRST HAIR CUT!!! She was so good. She sat there so calmly and quietly and let Marie do anything she wanted!

Knott's Berry Farm - Labor Day

With everything that has been going on with my Grandfather these days Jason and I haven't had much time to spend with Carlie alone. When Jason gets home from work I typically leave so I can head to the hospital :( She loves spending time with her Daddy, but hasn't had much of both of us these days... Since it was a three day weekend Jason had Monday off, so we wanted to focus all of our attention on Carlie for the morning and make her happy! We took her to Knott's Berry Farm and she had a blast. She loves running around and people watching and making new friends :) She likes most of the rides in Camp Snoopy, so we took her on most of them...

she found some birds she didn't like much on top of the fake mountain..

She loves Knott's Berry Farm and I don't mind taking her. It's only about 12 miles away and we have passes so it's easy to go for just a few hours. The only thing is the $14 parking is a joke. Since you have to park across the street and walk to just get to the front. I will definitely take her again soon. Plus I am planning some Seaworld, Zoo and Wild Animal Park trips in the next couple weeks too if anyone wants to go! :)

Pool Party!!

Anitra and I decided we wanted to have an end of summer pool party. Brayden is starting Kindergarten and it was his birthday so we ordered pizza and played in the pool for a few hours! :) It was so fun and I think the kids had a blast. Brayden, Kyla and Carlie always have fun when they get together, especially in the water!

The Park, Swimming & Pump It Up

We have been so busy the last couple of weeks since Carlie turned two. We haven't done anything significant, just a lot of little things that were fun. So here are the pictures :)

Going to the Park in the neighborhood across the street. She loves that park more than any park she has been to. Also, she got to ride the skateboard there, her other new favorite thing!!!

Swimming last weekend with Daddy while I took pictures and finished my book!

Anitra and I took the kiddos to a place called Pump It Up! It is an indoor play gym with a bounce house and a super tall slide and all sorts of other things. The kids had way too much fun.

Carlie's 2nd Birthday

This year Jason and I decided that we weren't going to go crazy and throw Carlie a big party because last year we did for her 1st birthday. Well... it didn't quite happen like that. We ended up getting a bounce house and had all our friends over and Carlie had so much fun, she jumped in the bouncehouse for about 6-7 hours with only a few breaks for lunch and drinks. Every day since then she comes downstairs and points to the lawn and starts jumping. She is too funny :)

This was after her party, we gave her some candles in some cupcakes and let her blow them out. We had to keep relighting them because she had fun blowing it out :)

Here is Brooklyn, one of Carlie's best buddies. While Brooklyn was at the party I don't think they left each others sides. It was so cute how they did everything together :)

Grandma Darlene & Grandpa Mark visit!

Mark and Darlene, Jasons parents, came into town and we all drove down and stayed in San Diego for the night and went to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido. We actually had a fantastic time and had so much fun with them. We also went to dinner with my parents at the Yardhouse, took them bowling, played and went to visit Mark's sister Karen at her new home and had a bbq. Overall, it was a great weekend that was full of fun!!

Chuck E Cheese

Today Carlie and I went to Chuck E Cheese with Anitra, Brayden and Kyla! Carlie always has so much fun with them once she gets comfortable. (She is such a mama's girl for the first 15 minutes of any event/playdate we have). But once she started getting comfy there she didn't want to leave. She loved almost all the toys/games there and loved putting the coins in by herself.

4th of July was pretty uneventful this year.. a bike ride, bubbles, a walk, fireworks and sidewalk chalk.

Carlie got sick of waiting for us to blow the bubbles so she grabbed her bubble gun and did it herself!

Carlie has a new favorite addiction, Sidewalk Chalk!! Seriously, she has to do this every day. She absolutely loves it and has so much fun drawing all over the place.

Clearly she didn't write her name, my Mom did. They played with this for like 2 hours one morning!!

But Carlie is good at coloring it all in! :)

Jason's brother was in town last weekend so we met him at the beach. It was a little overcast and Carlie wasn't thrilled to be there so we left her in her dress, she refused to put her bathing suit on...

San Diego Weekend

Mom, Josh, Carlie and I went down to sunny San Diego for a tennis tournament that Josh and Mom were playing in (Mother/Son Nationals). Mom and Josh made it past the first few rounds so Dad and Jason drove down on Friday after Jason got off work! It was a fun weekend but full of tennis and swimming!! :)

Salt Lake City, Vacation days..

Jason decided since he had that extra time off between jobs he wanted to go to Salt Lake and visit his brother Tracy, his wife Tricia and some of his friends. It rained every day, it snowed one of the days, it was lightening and thunder storms the whole week. The only nice day was the day that we got there... It wasn't what I would call a *vacation*.. I love Tracy and Tricia and we had fun with them, but I wish we went on a better weather week. We played a lot inside, bought Carlie a bunch of new movies and played with bubbles inside and on the porch. Sugar and McGuyver were taken on only 2 walks because of the weather but Carlie LOVED waking McGuyver. Also, the park down the street is nice too so we spend a little time there when there was a break in rain..

I was playing with all the settings on my new camera ... pretty cool!

Discovery Center on Monday..

Aunt Tricia is filling the car with gas.

Aunt Tricia works at Life Flight and this helicopter was damaged in it's first flight and not able to fix it.. So they donated it to the discovery center. So although we didn't get to visit Tricia at work because all the helicopters were out on missions due to the weather we at least got to see this one and Tricia got to tell us all about it!

They are going to Mexico to get married for a destination wedding and had to get married in the U.S. first so we got to spend their *reception* dinner with them ;) hehe.

Seaworld Fun!!

Jason got a new job and so we decided to take Carlie to Seaworld because he took some time off between jobs to have some fun :)

Carlie is just so sweet and smiled in every picture the photographer took! I couldn't buy all of them or I would have had to buy about 40 pictures so these are the best ones and the most adorable!

I let Carlie pick out which headband she wanted to wear since I picked out her first outfit and everything so she picked this. I know that it doesn't match, but it made her happy that she picked it and put it in her hair herself. I think it's adorable just because it is her! My fun, funny, sweet girl!

We met Anitra, Brayden and Kyla at the park today for a picnic and a play date! It was so much fun. We just ate and then walked over to the playground area and let them run around. Carlie wanted to swing with Kyla half of the time and then played on the slide with Brayden the other half of the time..

We went over to Auntie Alicia's and Uncle Jon's house for Easter day. We had fun with trading Easter gifts, Easter Egg hunt and NON-STOP bubbles. Brayden and Carlie danced, a lot and Kyla ran around with Carlie chasing Brayden around! It was a lot of fun for the kids and I had so much fun since they had fun!

Today Carlie and I went down to the beach and met up with Anitra, Brayden and Kyla. It was a last minute adventure but it was so fun! Unfortunately we forgot out beach toys so we had to borrow Anitra's! But the kids all had fun and I got some cute pictures!

Brayden always entertains Carlie and gets her laughing like a maniac. She loves him so much. Today they chased each other, played catch and crawled around in the sand :)

Brayden kept asking Carlie to throw it at his face, so she did, and she hit him multiple times and every single time they would both start laughing so hard. It was a soft nerf like football so it wasn't hitting him too hard. Thank goodness. I wouldn't have let her do it otherwise!

This last weekend Jason and I took Carlie to Fresno on Friday, San Jose on Saturday night and then Menlo Park late Saturday night and we left to come home Sunday morning. It was actually a horrible drive due to the extreme weather conditions. (I can't even count how many accidents we saw!)

Overall it was a fantastic weekend. We went to Fresno and hung out with Tonya and her kids on Friday night and Saturday morning. Carlie was extremely entertained by Maddi, Aiden and Ty. They read to her, tickled her, she tickled them, they danced and played like crazy. Friday night Carlie fell asleep as soon as we got back to the hotel and we had to wake her up around 8:45 the next morning and she was ANGRY, she didn't want to get out of bed. Poor girl, they wore her out! It was so sweet though watching them with her. They were so good and gentle with her, most of the time ;) She loved every second though and didn't complain one time. (even when she got punched in the face by accident.)

Aiden was trying to fix his truck that wouldn't work. They concluded the batteries were dead and gave up. So they played with something else.

Aiden is Carlie's new Best Friend! She was so happy to hang out with him. They seriously did everything together :) She adores him.

Jessica had her birthday Saturday so we drove over to San Jose and had dinner with her and Jon. We took Carlie inside at first so she could play with Mochi before sitting in a restaurant, since she just sat in the car for 3 hours from Fresno to Jessica's place.

I wish that they lived closer because Carlie loved hanging out with them and would love to see them more. Aiden and Maddi kept asking when we'll be back and we had a good answer when we said in 2 weeks. The kids area always in the school play and this year Ty is in the play. So we, of course, will be there to support him completely! I promise we'll never miss one! Plus Carlie is so excited to see them again.

Downtown with Auntie Heder

Today is the first day that Jason and I have actually taken Carlie out to do something. So Jason and I took her downtown to meet up with Heather and Ken! Carlie can't say Heather so she says "Heder" and it's adorable :) They brought their dogs and she fed Maddi and played with her, grabbed her tongue, gave her hugs and kisses and just had fun watching them sit with us! I didn't bring my camera but I did have my phone, these are the best pictures I got from them. Hopefully Kenny can send me the picture of Carlie giving Bubba the kisses!

Maddi was such a good girl, she let Carlie basically tackle her and she was fine with it :)

Carlie was really sick last week so we took her to the Doctor and he diagnosed her with RSV, it's a respiratory virus, she couldn't breath, was choking on mucus, fever was thru the roof and we basically kept her indoors and as calm as possible. Then on Tuesay we took her back to the Doctor because she still had a fever and her and I both had Sinus Infections :( My poor girl has been on tylenol, then a z-pack and hasn't felt good in over a 2 weeks... Finally yesterday she woke up normal and herself :) Not only is all this going on, she has every single tooth coming in right now that hasn't already come in. Her poor gums are so red and swollen that she is having trouble eating because it is giving her so much pain...

What is coming up...?

... Jason is gone again in Wisconsin all week.

... Friday we're leaving for Fresno to hang out with the nieces and nephews and Saturday Josh is playing against Fresno Pacific... Saturday night is Jessi's birthday so we're going to go to Campbell to hang out with her and then Sunday we're driving home from Menlo Park! It's going to be an extremely long weekend.

... Nothing else really, I'm hoping Carlie stays healthy for as long as possible. No more sickness please.

Dinner with the Duncans!

Two weeks ago Taneatha, Scott and Aiden came over and had dinner with Jason, Carlie and I. We let Aiden and Carlie play and we talked and we ate and had so much fun! At first Carlie had just woken up from a nap and wanted nothing to do with Aiden playing with her toys or being around her. But then Carlie woke up and I think she scared Aiden. She chased him around the house, fell on top of him, they played with toys together, she spanked him while he was laying down and they sang together while Taneatha played the guitar.. haha, it was so cute though, I believe that they had a ton of fun together :) Carlie now asks where Aiden is..

Aiden got here and since he loves guitars he got the Dora guitar and started playing it right away.

Then Carlie warmed up to Aiden and gave him a big kiss!!

Then they ran circles forever and laughed the whole time :)

Then Aiden decided it was time to lay down and Carlie gave him some love pats on the tushy!

Taneatha asked Aiden if he wanted up and he didn't, so Carlie ran over to her and jumped in her arms! I love how comfortable Carlie is with our friends and how much she loves playing with everyone :)

Aiden was such a good sport all night letting Carlie tackle him and love him :) I love watching her play with other children, especially ones that are only 7 days older than her. Time goes so fast considering Taneatha and I were pregnant together and we worked together so we spent days together talking about pregnancies and what nots... And now, our children are 19 months old and I have no clue where time has gone!

Carlie is so funny and when I tell her we're taking a picture she mostly grabs my face and either kisses me or pulls me closer to her. She is so funny when the camera comes out. I took some videos of her too and I can't wait to see what they look like and post them. She was a dancing maniac at the bowling alley because they play such fun dance music (apparently) hehe ;)

Visiting Great-Grandma, Computing w.Joshy & Daddy is HOME!!

Last week Carlie and I went to visit my Grandma, her Great-Grandma, and bring her some things from the market and hang out for a bit. Well Carlie was wearing all her jewelry and my Grandma was loving it all so Carlie wanted to share with her! She is such a sweet girl and wants to share everything she has with everyone. It is way too cute!

Uncle Joshy was doing some school work and Carlie wanted to help him of course. She hung out with him for a while and helped him compute things!

Jason got home from Wisconsin on Thursday night and yesterday Carlie was so excited that she finally got to play with "Dada"... She gave him all her toys and wanted him to help her use them all. It was absolutely adorable and I had to take a picture of this!

My sweet girl just turned 18 months so it was the perfect time to get some pictures done. Not only of her, but family pictures too!! I did this at 6 months, 1 year and now 1.5 years. I will do it again at 2 years! I can't believe how fast she's growing and what a beautiful, great daughter she is! I love her to pieces and hope you do too!

Uncle Joshy plays tennis in Redlands..

Josh plays tennis on the Hope International Tennis Team. His second match was in Redlands against the University there. Redlands isn't the nicest place, but we wanted to go and support Josh. I made Carlie some t-shirts so she could 100% support him and be adorable doing it. Plus I got her some blue sweat suit and a skirt so she could follow suit with the team uniform!~ Ya, she's adorable!!

She found the photographers dog for Redlands team and they wouldn't leave each other alone. They made best friends that day, unfortunately they'll probably never see each other again..

Our sweet girl, this is still while she had her fat lip from running too fast and tripping on the sidewalk in front of our house. But she still looks adorable!

Street Fair w.Old Man! & a Dance Party in PJ's

Carlie and I went downtown last night to the street fair with my Dad! It was adorable, Carlie held his hand the whole time up and down Main street when she wasn't sitting on his shoulders. :) She stopped at every doggy and said, "arf arf" and put her hand out for them to lick it!

Then we got home and Carlie wanted to have a dance party once we were in our PJ's. It was so cute, she danced like a maniac all night before she went to bed. I'll post the videos later when I have time to convert them and post them (maybe while Carlie is napping if she naps today.

Must eat some bread to get some energy to have a nice dance party :)

Carlie has finally learned what to do while swimming. Since she is only 17 months and can't actually swim by herself yet, she has learned to turn over and float on her back til she can get help. She is still learning how to kick herself over to the side and grab on, but she's got the floating down and that is all I wanted :) YAY!! YAY!! YAY!!

This video is hilarious.. Carlie tickled Sophias feet the whole time she was eating dinner. I thought this video was pretty much the sum of the night because that's how hilarious they were!

Carlie and Sophia had a play date last night and Chris and Stacey had dinner with us while they were playing. It was so fun, especially because Sophia is finally at the age where she can play with Carlie. They were so adorable together though, they played, and crawled and ran and jumped and turned on every musical toy and danced. It was too cute.

Sophia wasn't sure what was happening when my parents got home. Carlie was trying to tell my Mom something, but Sophia wasn't sure who she was and why she was there.

Then it was goodbye kisses for Chris and then Stacey too!

Chris and Stacey are moving to Atlanta this coming up week so we're sad. It's good for them though, Chris's family lives there and it will be good for Sophia to grow up around all her cousins! Plus, if we ever go to Atlanta now we'll have somewhere to stay and friends to visit :) Good Luck in Atlanta guys! <3 you!

Bounce House with Kyla & Brayden

Anitra brought up this great idea to go to a bounce house with the kids yesterday. I have never been to a place like this and Carlie typically does not like bounce houses so I was skeptical if Carlie would like this place. I know she loves other kids and she definitely loves Kyla and Brayden so I figured even if she didn't go in any of the bounce houses she'd still have fun with them.

She ended up going into a bounce house with Kyla and had so much fun! This place was great and I am so glad she liked it. We'll definitely go again!

My Gardening Diva

I know this is a funny thing, but Carlie loves to help my Mom in the garden but she also likes to dress girly girl... She loves to wear necklaces, bracelets and have her toe nails painted. But she wants to get in the dirt and help plant flowers and get dirty - which totally grosses me out because I hate dirt and all that nonsense. But, I will not tell Carlie she can't garden or play in the dirt, I will just put her in uglier clothes :)

she started to pull the necklace off and then it got wrapped around her knees - she is too cute though, she stopped and stood completely still til I took it off :)

Then Old Man left and went to the donut shop to get coffee and Carlie got angry that he left her. She gave him the stare down...

... then decided to wave at him ...

... now the kisses come ... She can't stay mad at him for leaving. :)

Knott's Berry Farm

Jason and Carlie have both never been to Knott's Berry Farm and today was the perfect day to go since Jason had time to go and the weather was perfect! Carlie fell asleep on the way over there (which is only a 20 minute drive) and woke up right when we went inside. We ended up buying a 2011 pass since it was only $60 a person and perfect since Carlie and I can head over there any time we want to go play while Jason is at work. I love Knott's and was so excited that Jason and Carlie finally got to go.. Carlie took about 20 minutes to wake up and be aware of what was going on. She didn't want to go on any of the rides, she only wanted to be in the stroller. But once we got her up and going she wouldn't stop. She ran around the park like a maniac. She was so funny! NO one, literally, NO ONE was there today. There were no lines and no waits and it was perfect because Jason got to go on every single ride he wanted to without waiting. So Carlie and I had no problems waiting for him. Plus, I've been there about 40 times since I grew up here and have been on everything .. about 40 times.. haha.

Carlie and Jason went on the school bus ride and Carlie wasn't so sure of it.. She just wanted off and ran to me as fast as she could when it ended.

Unfortunately I think Jason got some sort of bug because since we got to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner (right after Knott's) he's been really sick and throwing up all night :( He couldn't even eat at dinner - Carlie and I did and then we left and came straight home. Now he's just laying in bed watching movies and I'm sleeping in Carlie's room tonight (good thing we set that room up as a guest room so there is a nice big bed in it too). Carlie and I can't get this nasty bug he's got, especially if it's the flu. My poor hubby, has a bad sinus infection 3 weeks ago, ear infection too and then a cold and now this.. he's been sick for over a month :( I want my Healthy husband back!! I don't think it helps that he's constantly on planes and different airports back and forth to WI every other week :(

Between Christmas and New Years Carlie and Jason got very sick and no one had any fun :(
Carlie's fever reached 102.7 and couldn't kick the infection in her lungs - we ended up getting her antibiotics and it cleared up almost immediately.
Jason just got a nasty flu and didn't move for I don't know how long... So we've spent a lot of time secluded, in our house, not infecting anyone else...
But we do take walks.. So here are so adorable picture just from around the house and from walks. Carlie is still adorable even though she's sick...
Also, we went over to my grandparents house a few days ago and Carlie was just having too much fun playing with the magnifying glass and reading to them. So cute!!

Christmas Time - Present Opening

Tradition in our house is to open our presents on Christmas Eve. I think it's a great tradition because honestly, I can't wait another day to open presents. I get so excited. Carlie was having fun moving the presents around for the last week though. She'd pick one up and bring it to someone. Then she'd take it back and move it to a new spot under the tree. It was funny how much she liked moving them around. She never tried to open any of them though. Although she saw me wrap them all, she knew what was in them.. Sometimes she'd run over to her stuffed animal or her books and she'd say, "UUUHHHHH?" like, "c'mon mom, let me open it" and I'd say, "carlie not yet, you have *5* more days" or however many days.. and she'd put the present back and say "ohhhhh" and give me a sad look with those sad eyes.. haha.

So we decided to not do secret santa this year because of numerous problems we just thought it'd be easier if no gifts were exchanged. Well, we were all wrong. We pretty much all went crazy and bought for everyone. It was too funny to see all the gifts!!

Needless to say, most of them were for Carlie, but we all got some stuff :)

Aunt Tricia and Uncle Tracy sent Carlie this cutest Monkey from Build a Bear!

They didn't have us this year for Secret Santa but they couldn't resist sending Carlie something. It is seriously the cutest monkey ever!!! Thank you Auntie and Uncle :)

Aunt Jessi gave Carlie a dolly that she has to feed and a bunch of clothes!! Yes, great minds think alike because the outfit she got Carlie I was going to buy her last week but decided not to because Christmas was coming up and I didn't know what she'd be getting, plus Carlie has so many clothes!

But Thank You Thank You Thank You!! the clothes are adorable and she loves dolls right now!! She always has to feed them when she eats or drinks. Very responsible dolly owner!

Uncle Joshy got Carlie a guitar! Josh has a room called "the beat lab" and it is full of instruments and stuff... Well, Jason and I bought a beat lab last week to keep up with him, but apparently that wasn't enough so she got a guitar too!

Jason wouldn't let me buy Carlie a real puppy because he's allergic and we really have no where to raise a puppy so we got Carlie a fake one. She loves it. She thinks it's Sugar (Tracy and Tricia's dog) and she climbs all over her and gives her hugs.

Toy Story 3 - it also came with a digital copy so I can play it in the car in the ipod player :) YAY for long drives and cartoons!

ohhh.. and it came with buzz lightyear

Jason got inception and despicable me along with the other stuff he received.

I also want to Thank Moonyeen for sending Carlie a bunch of clothes and the cutest bracelet I have ever seen!!! She absolutely loves it and wears it around everywhere. She also hugs her little love bug stuffed animal all the time, then she'll place it down on her couch. So thank you and we can't wait to see you a few weeks :) Carlie can't wait to meet you!

Also, Laurie, Laurel, Wyatt and Gary gave Carlie the cutest outfit and snuggly! She loves the snuggly and won't sleep without it right now!! She is getting so big, hopefully we can see you all soon!

Carlie is pretty smart and knows a numerous amount of things and can answer them or do them for you.. She doesn't quite talk yet but she has her answers down by showing you or trying to say them. She also throws away her own trash, picks up and puts away all her toys and books without asking and gets things for you, for example, "Carlie I'm thirsty can you please get me a drink?" and she'll run over to the fridge and get me a soda or a water - whatever I ask for. Plus she is so sweet, she doesn't really talk back, sometimes she whines a little, but nothing serious.
Just recently, maybe the last week or so, she's tried to really start talking. Earlier today she said "bwesshhh uuuuuuu" when I sneezed. It was seriously the most adorable thing EVER. She is also starting to try to say thank you, please, more, plus the many other easy words that she already says. But I asked her a bunch of questions when I got my camera fixed and I wanted to see how fast the camera would take the pictures.. it did pretty well.. but you can look at the pictures and know what she is answering in the few pictures I did take. :)

My sweet girl, I love her more than words can describe! I could not be happier being a Mommy. She is so sweet and so smart.

Christmas Party with Santa

Today we went to a Christmas party over at my Moms friends house. They had Santa come and give all the kids presents and a big crafting area that Carlie LOVED!!! The only part of the party she didn't like was when Santa was having all the kids sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted.. But then she liked when Santa handed her a gift :) Especially since it was a "baby" :) She loves her babies more than any other toy she has.

My Dad tried to show her Santa was nice, but she didn't believe him and wanted to leave.

Our Annual Christmas Dinner

Normally we'd have our Christmas dinner at a restaurant with Jon and Alicia but this year my Mom decided we should have it at our house and we should cook for them! So my Mom made a ton of indo food and I made mexican chicken and Carrot Cake. It was a much better idea than a restaurant because the kids could run around here and have fun and not be stuck in high chairs. It was so much fun (except for when Carlie decided to nail Brayden in the face with her electronic doggy - poor Brayden, sorry)..
But Carlie loved having them over and had fun sharing her toys and showing them all her books and balls and toys and her Dora couch/bed. She is the sweetest girl!

Thanksgiving at the Balls house!

Jason and I usually go up to Menlo Park to visit Jason's parents every year for Thanksgiving. This year seemed to be more of a hassle than every other year because Carlie is at the age where she doesn't want to sit in her car seat for more than 1 hour (if I'm lucky it's an hour). She was fine on the way up there because we left at 4am and go up there by 10:30 so she slept most of the way. But the way down was more of a disaster; good thing we have a iPod player and movies and tv shows on the ipod and Carlie was entertained most of the time she was awake.

While up there it was great to see the kids and it was so cute how Aiden was with Carlie. He was so sweet to her and treated her so well. I think he liked that someone younger was there and he wasn't the baby during this trip. He got to treat someone else like the baby. :) He was so good with her though.. they played hide and seek, they played with all the toys, dug themselves into stuffed animal caves, played with Sugar (Tracy & Tricia's dog), and he always made sure that she was listening to me. If I called her over to me, he'd bring her and hold her hand all the time. It was adorable. All the other kids were good with Carlie too but they didn't play with Carlie as much as Aiden did. Courtney was a huge help when we drove to Half Moon Bay and Carlie got fussy. She helped keep Carlie calm and played games with her while we were driving. It was great :)

Sugar, again, Tracy and Tricia's dog, is SO GOOD with Carlie. They have met over a year ago while Carlie was like 2 months old in Salt Lake while we were visiting them last year. Sugar let Carlie stand on her, sit on her, pull her tail, lay across her face, lay across her body, stick her hands in her mouth and pull on her ears. It was so sweet how good Sugar was. It took Carlie some getting used to having a dog 65 pounds bigger than her and they share the same eye level, but once Carlie got used to getting her faced licked every second she loved it. I am so glad Tricia and Tracy ended up making the 12-14 hour drive to visit, I think it was well worth it..

Darlene, Jasons mom, made tons of yummy food and kept us all fed so well :)
She was happy when I offered to make dinner one night and she didn't have to do anything but tell me where the pans/utensils were. She said she wasn't used to people using her kitchen and her not having to do anything. :) I'm glad it turned out tasty though, otherwise she'd never want me to cook for her again :)

Seaworld today!

Jason and I took Carlie to Seaworld today :) She loves it there and so do we. And of course, it was fun as always.

This is serious, she needs to lean forward to see the penguins :)

She must run to the next destination and hold her glasses because they might fly off if she is wearing them.

She swears she could pet the fish... she'd say "Ohhh" when petting the glass.. haha

Last night Jason and I went to dinner at Jessica's house with Kerry and Nicole. I have never met Jessica or Nicole before but I absolutely LOVE them! They are so fun and easy going just like us, it's so great to be around people like them :) Unfortunately I think I gained 5 pounds from the stuffed mushrooms, pigs in a blanket, tri-tip, chicken, salad, bruschetta and mashed potatoes (I'm sure I'm missing something because I couldn't eat everything out) :) It was so good.
Carlie had a blast running away from Luigi at first, then getting close to him, then giving him a massage and laying on top of him. I swear that Luigi is the best 1 year old doggy ever! I was so happy he was great with Carlie and now she knows that doggies are sweet and she needs to be sweet back.

Kyla's First Birthday Party.

Kyla had her first Birthday Party yesterday. We had so much fun. There were so many kids running around and having fun, Carlie just had a blast. She ate her first cupcake too, she loved it! It did go up her nose and all over her face, but it was so cute.

Randomness ... Gardening - Taking a Walk - Dance Class with Kyla - Bed Time

GARDENING:

Now, I'm not a huge gardener, I'll be honest, I hate touching anything dirty or gross... But my Mom is a huge garderner, anyone who has ever been to my house knows that... Carlie loves to play in the dirt too and it totally grosses me out. But I will not sway her to not like to garden, she is her own person, (whether she is 1 or not), and can make her own decisions about what she likes to do or not do.

*Unfortunately, I do not like that she likes to garden, I wish she didn't

TAKING A WALK:

Every day we love to take walks up and down our street.. She loves to walk by the houses with the dog and yell, "ARF!!! ARF!!!"

DANCE CLASS WITH KYLA:

Every Thursday Anitra, Kyla, Carlie and I go to dance class... It's pretty fun. It's extremely repetitive so we know everything by heart at this point - I think we've gone to about 8 classes or so... But the girls love it and have so much fun (when Carlie isn't attached to my leg). Plus this teacher is so great, we took another dance class where the teacher wasn't nearly as fun or good.

BEDTIME:

I wanted to play with the camera a little bit... It has so many cool functions so I wanted to take pictures of Carlie. It is extremely easy to make her get into a laughing frenzy where she doesn't do anything but laugh for 15-20 minutes... Once she starts laughing, it doesn't stop. So I got her into one of these and just snapped away using all the different functions of the camera. So fun and cute! Love this girl! :)

OUR MILLION DOLLAR MAN:
My Dad had surgery last week of his spine. He is so amazing, he got out of recovery last Thursday and started jumping around telling us how great he feels. Tonight, HE WENT TO THE GYM!!! He is a crazy ass man who just doesn't stop. :) But I think it is great how good he is with Carlie - She loves him and just wanted to play with him all the time.
Tonight he is reading her a little flashcard book. It has animals and numbers and everything cute in it!

She is so happy to be around him and reading her book :)

What else is going on...

..Jason and I are going to the Alan Jackson concert tomorrow night in LA and my parents are watching Carlie for us!

..Saturday we are going to Kyla's 1st Birthday Party! :) YAY!!
